SUMMARY: dev naming probem in TruCluster5.1 (fwd)

Noone replied. I got into contact with compaq support.
The problem was the attached SCSI hardware. The "EasyRaidII" IDE to scsi
raid system does not respond to some scsi iniq commands and hence
generation of a wwid fails. I have tried several ways to work around by
editing /etc/ddr.dbase. This was what compaq suggested (but did not work):
# SCSIDEVICE
# #
# Type = disk
# Name = "easyRAID"
# #
# ATTRIBUTE:
# AttributeName = "VPDinfo"
# Length = 16
# ubyte[1] = 1
# ubyte[5] = 15
Yes. it is commented out...(now)

I found that the problem was more in hardware. Infact the easy raid did
not respond to the "show inq pages supported" command. A firmware update
solved the problem. Now the array responds to the command like this:
scu> show inq pages supported

Vital Product Data Pages Supported by Device /dev/rdisk/dsk26c (II):

Supported Vital Product Data Page (Code = 0x00)
Unit Serial Number Page (Code = 0x80)
Device Identification Page (Code = 0x83)
Vendor Specific Page (Code = 0xc0)

and it works. Same special device on all cluster nodes.

Strange though that even with the old faulty firmware hwmgr -show scsi
-did X -f gave the same wwid on both nodes and a "valid" state, but
different special devices.....

Subject: dev naming probem in TruCluster5.1

Gentlemen,

i have 5 compaq disks on 2 shared scsi busses on a TC5.1 configuration.
The dev names for the compaq disks are ok (same dev entries on both
nodes). However there is a RAID system on one scsi bus that has different
dev files on the cluster nodes. I have tried to adjust with hwmgr and
dsfmgr (-e -m) but no success. Here is the problem:

OK for Compaq disk (same name, both nodes):
bash-2.03# hwmgr -view devices -cluster | grep dsk4
   50: /dev/disk/dsk4c COMPAQ BB00913466 luna1
bus-3-targ-2-lun-0
   50: /dev/disk/dsk4c COMPAQ BB00913466 luna2
bus-3-targ-2-lun-0

Problem for SCSI (to IDE) raid:
bash-2.03# hwmgr -view devices -cluster | grep easy
   52: /dev/disk/dsk8c easyRAID II luna1
bus-3-targ-12-lun-0
  103: /dev/disk/dsk6c easyRAID II luna2
bus-3-targ-12-lun-0

How can i configure this so that both nodes are servers for this device ?

Thanks in advance,
--Armin
