Thanks to Corinne Haesaerts, Andreas, Maagdenberg

Ricardo Ramos, and Mark Centifonti for their responses. It seems that the
consensus is that there is no problems with making root 1 gb.

Admins,

I am getting ready to do a new install of 5.1 on a GS140 with 4
internal drives. My boss asked me to make the root file system bigger (i.e.
1 gb) so as to not run into trouble with putting patches on or upgrading the
os. Has anyone tried making root this big and if so, are there any
complications in doing so?

Thanks in advance,
