DMA

Hello,

on one of our backup server we are getting the following messages when we try to
make
a media change out of the backup software.

vmunix: dma_map_alloc: direct_map_alloc failed

I hope I could speed up the backup if I could enable DMA.
Thats where my question comes in:
What do i have to do to enable direct memory access (DMA)?
On the Firmware level, the Kernel config level and what ever level i might
have forgotten.

My System:
AlphaServer 2000 5/300
cpu 0 EV-5 4mb b-cache
Firmware revision: 5.3
PALcode: Digital UNIX version 1.22
DUV40E Patch Kit 1
Host adapter:
isp1: QLOGIC ISP1040B/V2 - Differential Mode
isp1: Firmware revision 5.57 (loaded by console)
isp1: Fast RAM timing enabled.

I allready installed patch kit 4 on that server but with no positive result.
This could also be a backup software problem but im not sure of that.

Thanks
Samier.
