Being new to UNIX and with TruCluster v5.1 fairly new, I wanted to check on
other folks' experience with using the defragment in this situation. I have
a two-node
cluster Tru64 UNIX v5.1 PK2 and TruCluster v5.1 and /, /usr, /var and two
non-unix-system (application/user) ADVFS file domains. I wish to use the
defragment, but with the cluster implications I wanted to know from someone
whether they had actually done this in the TruCluster v5.1 environment and
whether
there has been even the slightest hint of problem with messing up files when
the
defragment ran from one node and activity (even light) occurred on the other
node.
I am a long-standing VMS Cluster user and quite spoiled by the cluster-wide
lock manager. I am also not much on trying something and finding out the
hard
was if I have a choice.
I would appreciate any feedback someone could give me on this.
