First of all, thanks go out to :

and of course Dr. Tom Blinn!

All,
first and foremost, the problem appears to be unrelated to the EFT for
V5.1a; it does appear to be a bad BA356 shelf. I can only access two of the
four slots. I have checked the jumpers on it and it is not set for split bus
mode. When I tired to run clu_add member this AM and got the same errors,
this was the final piece to the puzzle.

Secondly, it was pointed out that as a Compaq employee there are internal
resources available to me, that many on this list do not have. By way of
explanation and a general "mea culpa", I am a contractor, not an employee
and therefore have not had much opportunity to explore the many internal
resources available, although I do work closely with our local COS mission
critical groups and have worked with many fine individuals working in the
various support groups.

I have been lurking around and occasionally posting to this group for many
years, so my first instinct was to post my problem here, sorry for the
wasted B/W.

Several of you agreed that the version of the EFT I was using was old and
pointed me to a site where the latest build will be available and a couple
of you suggested opening a problem report. I was advised against this,
because there have been several subsequent builds. I expect to recieve the
real distribution soon and will test with it.

Original question below.

Hey now managers! I could use a little assistance, if you please. I am an
early adopter for the Tru64 V5.1a EFT, because we need the LAN interconnect.
I have loaded the OS and everything was coming along until I attempted to
run clu_create. This command fails when trying to configure the quorum disk.

The quorum disk I am trying to use is a RZ1CD-CS and I have tried two
different disks, in case that was an issue, with the same result. Could
possibly be a problem with the BA356, but not sure how to identify it. The
disks are seen by the system and I can read and zero the disklabel.
My environment is the following: Tru64 5.1a EFT/TruCluster 5.1 without
patches (yet) 1xDS20/128MB, 1xDS10/384MB, 1xBA356-KH Storage shelf,
2xKZPBA-CB with y-cable/termination, No MC; using LAN Interconnect, Cluster
root/usr/var
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
rrc
