sir,
this is regarding the installation of HP 1300T optical disk drive in tru64
unix version 5.1. I got driver(ie osds160 package) for optical disk drive
in software product library which has came with Tru64 unix ver 5.1 OS cd.

problem:
1. while installing driver in ver.5.1 it is giving error saying that this
is only for tru64 unix ver.4. during the installation the script will
check for the OS ver. & it will come out from installation.

2. when i tried to install the same driver in tru64 unix ver. 4.0 it will
install properly & it will rebuild the kernel & creates device files.th
optical disk will work without any problem.

3.to avoid the above said problem in ver.5.1, i edit the .scp files in the
directory /osds160/kit/insctrl & change the level ver. from 4 to 5.After
that i am able to install the driver without any problem..but while
configuring the drive it will ask to enter the SCSI bus no. at which
device connected.but here if i enter any no.( ie bus no such that 0,1 etc)
it will not take & repeatedly it will ask same question. but in ver 4.0 it
will take bus no. what i typed( ie bus no.0) .so that i am not able to
continue.

please let me know the solution..i thought there may be separate driver
for ver.5.1. if it is available pls let me know from where i can get..
