This is really a hardware question rather than Unix-related, but I am
sure someone on the list will know the answer.
I have a DS20 with a KZPAC (Mylex RAID) controller, to which I just
added the battery backup option. The battery unit came without
directions, but it seemed obvious: remove the header plug from the
controller and insert the battery card (and bolt it on). The problem
is, the KZPAC configuarion utility doesn't appear to recognise the
existence of the battery. I am running ARCCF.EXE from the AlphaBIOS
console, and as I understand it, the menu option Controller Setup...
Hardware parameters should acquire one or two more options (relating to
write-back caching) when the battery is installed - but there are none.
Is there anything else which needs to be done - jumpers to be set on
the controller, or wait for the battery to charge?
Thanks,
Graham
