Hi Managers,
we have a Trucluster 1.6 availability server running
on two AlphaServer4100 servers connected via the
memory channel interconnect at our customer site.
The Alpha servers are running Tru64 UNIX 4.0f.
ASE is used for availability of nfs services to
various clients over the LAN. This config was being
in use (non-stop) for the last few months and we've
had
no problems.
today, both the servers were shutdown due electrical
maintanance.
- When we booted the PRIMARY server everything was
fine.. I was able to mount the exported services
from Primary, Secondary and also on all clients.
- When we booted the Secondary (2nd) server (without
powering on PRIMARY), the system came up. but non of
the exported services was mounted locally on the
Secondary server. Even in my NFS-Client systems, I
was unable to mount the file systems.
Everything came to normal when I shut Secondary and
bringing up First Primary and the Secondary.
with this observation I am sure the Secondary is not
supporting any of the service on its own when the
primary is down.
Before touching the ASEMGR, I wanted suggestion from
all you how to go safe without effecting the
integrity of the ASE database.
Thanks in advance.
reg
NG
