Hi all,
Thanks to LHERCAUD, Robert Collins and Lu Qiang.
Original question:
"We have a two node Alpha cluster running Tru64 UNIX v4.0D and
TruCluster Available Server Software v 1.5.
We also have a RAID connected to the nodes . This RAID is a ASE disk
service with IP and we want to change the IP adress of this service.
I think I only have to change the service's IP in the /etc/hosts
file. Is this correct ? Is neccesary to reboot or to do something else ?"
Finally I tried the method from Robert Collins and It runs:
"
1.) Add the pseudo alias name to the existing service's IP address in
'/etc/hosts'
e.g. 193.32.41.99 sgbs sgbst
2.) Rename the service to the pseudo alias name using ASEMGR
3.) Change '/etc/hosts', by adding a new line with the old IP address
for the pseudo alias name.
Change the IP address to the new one for the original Service
name.
e.g. 193.32.41.99 sgbst
193.32.41.199 sgbs
4.) Rename the service name from the pseudo alias name to the
old service name using ASEMGR.
5.) Remove the pseudo entry in '/etc/hosts'.
Do not forget to copy the modified hosts file to the other members
after each modification
This cannot be done without interrupting the availability of the service but
it is not necessary to reboot.
Besides, the address of the service must be on the same subnet as the
members. If you
wish to change the subnet of the service then you will also need to change
the subnet of the members....
Best Regards / Un saludo
