Hello all,
so far only a respondse from Pat O'Brien, Thanks Pat, tomorrow we will
be doing some exercises on a test-cluster to prepare ourselves for the
weekend when the real update is going to happen.
I'm still looking for a solution to question 1. What I've found so far
is this:
I create a volume on node A. The device special files are generated on
that node.
I can "see" the volume with volprint on both nodes. On node B the device
special files are not there.
If I run /sbin/lsm-startup on node B (without shutting down LSM) the
device special files are generated without LSM-interruption. So there is
something there but I can't figure out yet what.
Any ideas?
Greetings,
Andre Maagdenberg

Subject: questions about LSM on V5.1 cluster
Hello,
I have two question about LSM and V5.1 cluster
Question 1:
When I create on one node a volume in a diskgroup I can see the volume
in both nodes, buth the device special file is only created on the node
on which I created the volume.
On the other node I did a dsfmgr -K, no luck
volsetup -s, no luck either.
In the end I restarted LSM on the other node and that did the trick.
However, I hope there is a better way to do this.
Can someone help me with that?
Question 2:
While upgrading a V4.0G cluster with LSM to V5.1. Is there a way back
for LSM?
When at some point during (or after) the upgrade I need to reverse the
operation, is there a possibility to get LSM back to V4 or is
re-creating the disk-groups the only way back?
ALOTIA!
Andre Maagdenberg.
