AdvFS panic

Hi,

I guess this is my first true system crisis, certainly for AdvFS.

We've received the following message in /var/adm/messages:

Sep 6 16:07:34 sif vmunix: bs_osf_complete: metadata write failed
Sep 6 16:07:34 sif vmunix: AdvFS Domain Panic; Domain home_domain Id
0x34f74336.000d894e
Sep 6 16:07:34 sif vmunix: An AdvFS domain panic has occurred due to either
a metadata write error or an internal inconsisten
cy. This domain is being rendered inaccessible.
Sep 6 16:07:34 sif vmunix: Please refer to guidelines in AdvFS Guide to
File System Administration regarding what steps to ta
ke to recover this domain.

I have a call into Compaq (HPaq ?) but haven't heard back and don't know
when I will. Anybody have some thoughts on how to proceed to get this
fixed? Additionally, we have a number of Oracle databases running on this
machine which I'd like to shutdown but can't since the binaries are
installed under /home and I can't even log in as the user oracle since /home
is inaccessible. I can get in as root and issue 'kill -9' to all Oracle
processes but I was hoping there was a more orderly way to shut them all
down. And for you PeopleSoft gurus all the Process Schedulers are still
running but I can't shut them down either for the same reasons.

Thanks a lot!!
Andy
