Hi All,
I'm having a problem with reverse DNS lookups slowing telnet, ftp, mail,
and other services on two of my Tru64 systems. Users are connecting with
PC's which are getting addreses assigned via DHCP, and telnet
connections are taking 80 seconds to complete after the reverse lookups
time out. I've got a nameserver that is master for the reverse zone (it
returns nothing) that is helping speed up the process on one system, but
the other uses a non-local nameserver first, so queries time out on that
one before getting resolved.
Anyone know of a way to keep network services from doing reverse
lookups?
TIA,
Steve
