Thanks for the response. The error seems to appear due to running in
single-user mode wherein certian logging process are not active.

The problem is with the current design of commands such as vdump and
vrestore, there are others as well, when they are used in single-user mode.
The design change was implemented in the 5.x stream to accommodate the event
management log. These commands attempt to post events to the event
management log; however, this service is not normally started in single-user
mode. These messages can be made to go away by starting the evmd and binlogd
prior to issuing the vdump and vrestore commands.

You're running the dumps in single-user mode, right? The reason for the
message is that there is no event manager running to which to post the event
when in single-user mode. A lot of ADVFS operations attempt to post events
to the event manager and you get such messages if it is not running. In
this case it is completely cosmetic, it doesn't mean there is a problem.
Good luck!

Subject: Vdump error...
On DS20e and DS10 running TruCluster 5.1 and using 125m DAT tapes, we have
successfully (could restore without problems) performed vdump backups.
However, it has been noticed that at the end of each such backup an error
message appears as follows:
                vdump: error[13] posting event:
sys.unix.fs.advfs.fset.backup.unlock
I wonder why this appears as I have not had problems in reading back or
restoring the tape. Anyone aware of this? Thanks.
