Hi guys,
I have a customer who has a DS20e running t64 Unix with a dual-controller
RA3000 attached. He is opposed to using a windows based system to manage
his raid storage and has always used the serial port and the cli to do
what ever he needs to manage his raid sets on the ra3000. Becaus of some
performance issues he asked me to take a look at it to see if he had any
configuration errors. I installed the command console software on my
laptop, connected to the RA3000 serial ports, and using the GUI, saw a
few minor things, but nothing that should have caused the problems that he
is seeing. The real problem happened when I disconnected my lap top from
the RA3000 serial ports. He normally communicates with the RA3000
controllers via a terminal server connection using the cli. This no longer
works. I reconnected my laptop, the GUI still works, but a terminal
connection does not. Talking to remote support, we received the
recomendation that we cycle power on the RA3000. The customer did this
last night (Sunday after midnight) and still cannot establish a terminal
connection with the controllers. The ra3000 is functioning fine and is
their email system so that it cannot be brought down with out advanced
scheduling. Does anyone have any ideas here?
Thanks
John Harvey
