I have to install Tru64 V5.1 on to several systems. My theory is to install
it on one system, vdump it and then vrestore the image to all the other
systems, just changing the network bits on each system.
My concern is how after the restore from tape, the system will name the disk
devices. Presumably if I have three disks on the first system (dsk0, dsk1
and dsk2) when I restore to the next system (again with three disks) it will
create dsk3, dsk4 and dsk5 when it boots, due to the WWID to disk name
mapping.
Is there a file that I can delete/modify so that the disks on the other
systems are created as dsk0, dsk1 and dsk2 ? I know that generally the disks
will be numbered in terms of their SCSI bus and target positions.
Regards
Kevin Jones
