4.0F/G -> 5.0a

Seems like everyone has a different idea on this.

My understanding on this (from our rep) was that
4.0G was strictly WildFire support and it was not
widely distro'd.

So my question is: Is the upgrade from 4.0F -> 5.0a
(on the way to 5.1, without C2) supported?
