SUMMARY: DNS from Windows...

Sincerely appreciate the numerous replies. The consensus proved right as we were under the impression that just setting up the DNS server is enough and there is nothing to do at the Win98 client. It was apparently necessary (as pointed out by one and all) that a pointer to the DNS server was needed. We added it and presto...

Thanks again.

Orignial message:

This is directed at all the DNS whizkids. We have installed one DS10
(Tru64v5.1) as DNS master server and another similar m/c as DNS slave
server. From both the m/cs, we can see the DNS master server name and
address using nslookup. However, we are not able to ping the hosts
registered in the DS10 m/cs, from any Windows 98 clients. I believe by
setting up the DS10s as DNS servers, there is no need to add such addresses
in each of the client PCs in the DNS setup of Control Panel->Networks. Why
am I then not able to ping the DNS servers?

Any suggestions? Thanks.
