Hello,
that one was really fast.
Thanks to Joe Fletcher, Paul Sand, Dan Goetzmann, Hoai Tran who all pointed
me
to the command "consvar", Thanks.
Thanks also to Chris Ruhnke who made the following remark:
- You will need more access to the console than just a parameter to pass to
- the SRM for reboot.
- What happens if the system crashes?
- How do you identify which system you want to boot from the SRM prompt
- (assuming the parameter was not passed)?
- You would be much better served if you connect the serial console of the
- remote system
- to a terminal server on your network or at least to a dial-up modem which
- you can access
- in times of trouble.
- Just another one of the "joys" of performing remote system management.

Thema: Dual Boot
Hello,
I would like to have two diffrent OS's on one System. I know how this is
done
while having access to the console. But in my case the console is remote
and I want to boot the other OS from a telnet connection.
I was looking for some parameter which is passed from the OS to the SRM
which tells it what disk to boot, but i didn't find any.
Does anyone know of a way how to do that or is this just not makeable?
BTW:
OS: DUV40E
HW: Alpha 2000
No remote console available
TIA
Samier.
