On AS2100A 4/275 ,running Oracle 8.1.5 and 8.1.7 test database.

After applying this patch, I have noted that running sqlplus for Oracle
8.1.7 generated a message
"inst emulated pid=10192 <sqlplus> va=0x14005b478 pc=0x1200fc6d0
inst=0x3be60000"
whereas the 8.1.5 version on the same box does not . I found a reference on
a Sybase website for this , as follows:

>>[Bug #236936] Machines running the ev4 or ev5 processors (less than
350Mhz) may get instruction emulation warnings, such as:
>>inst emulated pid=nnn <prog_name> va=0xvirtual_addrpc=0xpc_addr
inst=0xactual_instr
>>The operating system (OS) will grab trap for byte/word instructions and
execute them as if an ev6 processor instruction.
>>Due to this, emulation there may be a performance degradation.
>>Machines running the ev6 processor and greater do see performance gains.

What has the patch done to enable this new "feature" , as it didn't occur
before the patch upgrade.? Has anyone else had this happen?
The AS2100 has 275mhz processors x2 so that would explain part of it
.Thanks.
