Up'n'Running! was:URGENT! machine in weird state!?

Hi...

Finally got to the machines to read console logs, there were an advfs
panic...
Tried to unmount the domains on one of the machines, but they were
umountable (device busy(there is probably a way to get around that), one
machine was impossible to get into at all..

Since I couldn't log on (or do anything at all) on the machine i rebooted
it, and to my surprise it booted correctly mounted all advfs domains (/usr
being one of them...) no error messages all running smoothly now..
Started up the oracle db:s on the machine and they all came up and after
checking them (to some degree) they all seemd just fine..

Rebooted the other machine as well. Same result.. Up and running with no
problems at all...

All OK now.. But what went wrong?

Any ideas on were to start searching for probable causes are very welcome...
