Troubles with firmware update

Hello everyone,

Early this week I received a DEC Workstation 500a, model: SN-B3AAA-P2.

I attempted to update the firmware using the 5.8 Firmware CD in order to
install Tru64 5.1 on the system. After booting off the Firmware CD and a
successful Firmware install (at least I saw no errors), I powered down the
system then powered it back up. After turning the power back on the system
just sat there, the only activity I noticed was the CDROM activity light
going off for a few seconds then stopped. There was nothing on the screen
(it didn't even activate the monitor). I then proceeded to let the system
set there for 20 minutes or so thinking it may be doing some type of
internal updating, but still nothing.

Have I messed up here? I've been all over the compaq site and can find
little to no detailed information on the WS500a and have basically hit a
brick wall.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-Will
