lpd setup for HP4500N under v4.0F

howdy,

trying to get lpd print queue setup for an HP 4500N color laser jet
networked printer under tru64 v4.0f. Compaq's web site only has
"drivers" that work under v5.1 or later. has anyone gotten this printer
to work via lpd under this version of tru64?
