Thanks to Grant Ward, Harald Baumgartner, Selden E. Ball, Jr., Dr. Thomas
Blinn and Alan - not myself but alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com ;-).

The original question is:

> Can compaq XP1000 support 73GB disk say Fujitsu MAN3735 or other brands.
If
> not what's the largest size it accepts?

The answer is positive. Quite a few people have successful experiences on
various Digital/Compaq platforms including XP1000. Harald is using a Seagate
73GB disk. Grant and Selden are using 180GB Seagate disks.

In particular, Harald mentioned he "had to build a new kernel with
genvmunix" to get it work. Grant, Dr. Blinn and Alan reminded me to consider
the possible "over heating" issue.

Thanks again for your response and time,
