Hello everyone,
In my WS500au I have a Digital 4D10T Graphics card. After installing 5.1
(and firmware 5.8) I can not get the Xserver started. It basically
coredumps and crashes the system. After a couple of failed attempts, I
figured I would go aheard and install an older version Tru64/DIGITAL
to see if it could be the card was no longer supported; thus I installed
4.0E. During the install of the packages it informs me that it has detected
a new graphics controller and will install the required packages.
Once this is done the system boots. After the boot process and during the
kernel loading process, it comes up with:
Comet0 at bus 0 slot 11
This system requires a driver for it's video card.
Enter the device where the kit can be found (e.g. rz4c).
(on the next boot, in place of the above it will say: dli configured )
So... I used rz16a rz16b ( / and /usr) I've also used the device names
for the CDROM. And still I get a core dump (but does not crash under
4.0E).
Any Ideas? suggestions? Should I get a new graphics card?
