qpopper 4.0.3 & performance

Hi,

I've a qpopper performance problem!
The servers runs (standalone) on an ES40 4 CPU.
When a user downloads a mail with attachment, the performance are
very bad: ~10Kb / secs max (even on the same LAN)

Any idea? If I test some other TCP based application, there is no
problem.
