Cluster create & LSM root volume

We are about to start a program of rebuilding the root volume on several
stand-alone servers. Completion of this project will launch a new seconday
project consisting of creating a couple of tru64 5.X clusters consisting of
2 or 3 nodes. We had been on the fence in determining the root partiton
type(ufs vs advfs). Previously, we decided ufs would be fine for some
archaic reasons we don't remember. We always have used LSM to mirror the
root volumes to secondary disks for redundancy. Because the crystal ball
says clustering is in the future, we are re-considering the filesystem type
thinking that advfs should be used instead for phase one. The 64 dollar
question is " can a advfs mirrored root volume be utilized" through the
clu_create process to create a cluster, or will the LSM be required to be
removed prior to the clu_create. We are aware of the requirements that the
cluster "erd" must be advfs and that a tru_cluster 5.x cluster can not have
LSM root volume, but this question seems to be in between these
requirements.
