Dear Gurus:
Thanks very much to
"McDowell, Paul" Paul.McDowell_at_celera.com
"Udo de Boer" Udo.de.boer_at_ubero.nl
"Brown, Phillip" Phillip.Brown_at_COMPAQ.com
for the prompt responses.
The solution was
# dsfmgr -vFV
I had earlier run dsfmgr -vF, and that did not help; the error I posted was
after that. the additional V option sorted it out.
Still there seem to be 3 out of the 24 errors, which relate to the floppy
drive, but since the machine is up, I will learn more about this and try to
solve it myself. Yesterday it was important to get the machine up.
Thanks a lot!
Sauri

Subject: device naming problems during upgrade
Hi,
I tried to do an installupdate from Tru64 5.0 to 5.0A, but when the
installation procedure reboots the computer (DEC 600au), I get a long
list of device problems, ending with:
Errors: Cluster 0 Local 0 Cluster/Local 24 Total: 24
bcheckrc: Device Naming failed initial check.
Correct errors and then continue or reboot.
INIT: SINGLE-USER MODE
#
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks.
