Hello,

ok this is how you doit , thanks to Arrigu Triulzi and Tom Blinn:

first install the new license with
# lmf register
...

then delete the temporary one:
# lmf delete osf-base dec <authorisation number>

then do a reset
# lmf reset

and with a
# lmf list full for osf-base

you can see the new license is working!

Also thanks to Wofram Kraft who pointed out that the old license doesnt
need to be
deleted. But eversince the temporary license expires on December the 24th I
wanted
to be sure i dont need it ;-)

Have fun
Samier.

Hello,

while I was on holiday a cpu has been added to a server.
Unfortunately the compaq service has not lincensed the cpu with the
standard license
but with a temporary lincense. The standard license is on my desk.

>From the archives I have learned that if I delete a osf-base license with
the CPU still in the server
no one besides the root account is allowed to log on to the server.

How can I exchange the licenses without halting the system or locking out
any users?
Does a simple > lmf register and then deleting the tempory license work?

OS: DUV40E PK1

Thanks in advance,
Samier.
