ASU shares over the net

Hi,

Has anyone ever used ASU across the Internet? What I've been asked to
look at is making an ASU share available to a group of users essentially
on a global basis. The simplest way to do the job would be to have the
share available for mapping via Windows Explorer on a per user basis.

The actual process involves a random group of users who can be from any
external organisation anywhere in the world. These users must be able to
read/write/edit docs and data in a shared area. The files will be a
mix of Word docs, Excel sheets, maybe some HTML docs. Access controls
will be required ie read-only for some users, full rights for others.
The setup will also be required to integrate with a set of internal
desktop NT based systems.

There is a preference to have the underlying server on unix rather
than NT for security reasons hence ASU/Tru64 is my platform of choice.

I'm also wondering what firewall considerations would be involved.

Failing that can anyone tell me an integration method between ASU
and a web server?

Any ideas anyone?

TIA

Joe
