SUMMARY: can't open osf_boot

From: Copper, Steve <scopper_at_westernpower.co.uk>

All,

My fault, the problem was that when the disklabel was created I didn't use
the -t advfs option. I have now rectified that and the server has booted, so
everything is fine.

Thanks

Steve

Managers,

Need some more help i'm afraid.

I have another ES40 server which wont boot due to the above error after it
says jumping to bootstrap code. I have searched this list for previous mails
about this and found one which suggested that I boot from cd, drop into unix
shell, make the links for root etc.... mount the root filesystem and copy
the file osf_boot from the cd to the os disk. This I have done but I am
still getting the same error message when trying to boot again. This is a
bit confusing especially as I can boot from the cd so that copy of osf_boot
must be working!

Has anyone come across this? or more to the point how do you overcome this
little problem?

Version 4.0F

TIA

Steve Copper
