Hi -
I've got a couple of HP5M Postscript printers plugged into the network,
a bunch of Alphas and Linux machines send jobs to our print server which
then fires then off to the printers. The printcap entry on the clients
is simply
# Queue for HP5M no. 1
#
hp5m1|lp0|0:\
:lp=:\
:rm=printserver:\
:rp=hp5m1:\
:lf=/var/adm/lpd-err:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/sys_laser:\
:mx#0:
and on the print server it's
# Queue for HP5M no. 1
#
hp5m1|lp0|0:\
:lp=:\
:rm=printer1:\
:rp=raw:\
:lf=/var/adm/lpd-err:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/sys_laser:\
:mx#0:
it all works fine but now i want to temporarily get each job to print
a banner page to identify who's printing what and it doesn't seem to
want to do it. neither printcap entry has banner pages turned off and
there's nothing in the printer config to turn this feature on or off.
any ideas how/if i can do this...?
