how to handle .zip format

Hi Managers

I have big archive in windows .zip format on my Windows box.
It can be unzipped into many many directories and subdirectories.

I want to have same directory structure on my tru64 box.
If I ftp it over as a whole, gzip cannot read it,
to unzip first then ftp would take me a week.

Are there any useful tricks?
