system hang when transfert file

I transfert big files (each file is about 50Mb) between two workstations
with an scp command. Theses workstations are connected on ethernet LAN (100Mb).

The source files are stored on a PWS433au (external SCSI disk) with tru64 4.0E/ Firmware 5.57.
The ethernet card is setup to be in 100Mb : " tu0: link up: negotiated 100BaseTX: full duplex".
This system hangs on some files :
- the workstations doesn't respond to ping or telnet.
- all network sessions are aborted.
- No response to keyboard or mouse.

The only solution is to reboot the workstation with the power button.
No message are added to the logfile /var/adm/messages.
The command uerf doesn't report any errors (CAM SCSI or others).

I don't think that it's a network problem
because I copy many files between others workstations and there are no problems.

I try to copy with other commands (like a "mv" on an NFS mount) and the system hangs again.
