I was attempting to boot from CD and repartition and install 4.0G on the
XP-1000 system we acquired last week. I noticed when installing the second
hard drive that the CD-ROM was IDE instead of SCSI. I found that the
machine will not boot from the 4.0G CD and spits out errors about no valid
boot block if you try. I was wondering if there are issues with booting
from IDE devices for OS installations or otherwise on alpha systems? Or if
it's just some kind of error on my part at the console.
