I'm losing my mind. Apparantly the reseller that we'd ordered this from had
installed the IDE CD-ROM. The jumper wasn't on "master" as one would
suspect. It was only a simple hardware problem. After fixing the jumper in
the master position (i'm assuming it was placed in the Cable Select position
like an OEM Compaq PC would be) it booted fine from dqa0. I hope that
somebody searching through the archives is helped by this someday ;-)
Thanks to everyone who replied!
It seems Dr. Blinn, alan_at_nabeth.cxo.cpqcorp.net, and Alan Davis will have to
share the prize of one self administered pat on the back for most
informative answers.
