Managers:
I'm stumped on this one, and thought I'd ask here first.
I've got a host running 4.0D, with DMS clients also running 4.0D. I have been trying to install the driver for an ATMworks 351 card for each of the machines.
For the host, I picked up the needed file, did the 'tar xvf LPA101a.tar', did the install with the 'setld -l LPA101', and managed to get everything up just fine.
However, for the clients, it's a bit more complicated. As the clients are dataless, part of the installation requires access to locations in the shared environment that are off-limits to the clients. To work around this, I tried duplication the actions for the install that are described in the lpa101a-rm.txt file (manually copying things around and setting up links and updating the sysconfigtab as outlined in the instructions.)
Even with stepping through the operation manually, the lpa is not loaded. I'm stumped and will be calling the support line, but I thought I'd put it out here in case there's another manager who has run into the same thing, or anyone else, who can offer a suggestion.
