It was very clear, that using Trucluster 5.1 there is no primary node, so
all I need to do is add the new GS140 into the cluster and remove the GS140
from the cluster.
see replies below:
Hi
There is nothing like a primary in 5.1...you can just delete the member and
add the member again...

Vince,
Since you are running V5.1, I'd do this:
1) do a clu_add_member to add the GS140 into the cluster. You'll now have 3
members
2) failover your applications (if any) to the GS140 from the GS160
3) do a clu_delete to remove the GS160
I'm assuming there are no storage connectivity issues.

Hi,
the easiest option to remove the 'old' member (GS160) using
clu_delete_member(8) and (re-)add the GS140 using
clu_add_member(8) .
This is due to the hardware database dependencies which also
include system configuration information such as PCI bus
information
which of course will be different for a GS140 .

Hi Vince,
Since it is a V5.1 cluster then it should be easy enough to
clu_add_member(8) the second GS140 and then clu_delete_member(8) the GS160.
If you do not have enough h/w to have all three running at once, then
delete
the GS160 then add the GS140. The original GS140 should be able to stay
running as long as you are careful when cabling in the second GS140.
It might be possible to just shutdown the GS160 and then replace it with
the
GS140 and then boot with genvmunix to single-user mode, but deleting and
adding the cluster members is probably a cleaner scenario.
It should not take you more than an hour to do this, and you should be able
to keep the original GS140 up the entire time. To reduce your
single-point-of-failure exposure, you may also want to set your quorum disk
to zero votes (or remove it temporarily) while only one member is up. You
can use the clu_quorum(8) command to mess with the quorum disk.
I hope that this helps.
Take care.

Hi all,
I have a GS160 and GS140 in a cluster, I want to remove the GS160 and add
another GS140, however the GS160 is my primary node, is this an easy this
to get done?
TIA
Vince
