Auto Oracle shutdown in Cluster

We have a 2-node DS20E cluster running Tru64 v5.1 and have put the oracle auto-shutdown script as recommended in the "/sbin/init.d" directory with a corresponding link in "/sbin/rc2.d" using the conventional filename "K02oracle".

This script runs when executed manually (so nothing wrong with the script). However, we have noticed that it runs well from one node when using "Shutdown -hs now" but does not work at all (Oracle crashes) from the other node. As both the nodes are using the same file and directory, this behaviour is very perplexing.

Further, this same script was tested to work on the node where it doesnt now. Why could this change in node behaviour happen in a cluster?
