Hello,

thanks to
Tom Blinn,
Jeffrey Hummel,
Alan,

The consensus was that i should get a new disk.

The error is that a allocated block on the disk faild and that the disk
firmware itself tried
reassign that block but that doesnt work.
You could as well use the scu utility manually with the reassign option.

Thanks
Samier.

Thema: Soft error on disk

Hello,

OS: Dec Unix 40E
Server: Alpha 1200
Disk: RZ29B

we have a system which has 2 soft errors on a disk. The server has been
booted
but that will not reset the error.
Can i reset that error myself or can i do something to repair the disk?

Because there is no soft- or hardware raid im worried about a total disk
failure

I will attach the dia -o full output for that disk

thanks in advance
Samier.
