Our ES40 has a Fibre connection to a raidset on a SAN , via
Fibre Adapter , SAN Switch and HSG80 controller.
Or at least it did have , before the 5.0A -> 5.1A firmware and
O/S upgrade I did yesterday. It now no longer sees the device
associated with this connection - the filesystem does not mount
on boot, and hwmgr and scu do not report it.
Any clues ? My guess is something has gone awry down at the Fibre
Adapter -> HSG80 level . I know there is the WWID you have to watch
out for but that definitely hasn't changed.
Another point is that I also upgraded the same day a DS20 in exactly
the same fashion , that talks to a different raidset on the same SAN,
same controllers, and it has come up fine.
The only diff was that the firmware upgrade on the ES40 concluded
by asking "do you want to do a manual update" - I answered No.
However to see if that would make a difference , I went back and
redid the firmware update in manual mode , and got two additional
updates done , TIG V10->V10 (i.e. no change presumably) and RMC v2.6->v2.7,
but that made no difference to anything at all.
Any ideas welcome .
