I've been asked two questions:
> Do you have the same uid, gid across all systems?
Yes, I do. We use NIS.
> How long do you wait?
I was waiting about 30 seconds. I then decided to wait longer and see what
happens. After about 90 seconds, the file did open in vi. It also took
approximately 160 seconds to quit (without any changes) from the file.
(The file is roughly 39 KB in size.)
