Summary: Max share size

Turns out this was nothing to do with ASU or the client. There was a problem
with the advfs file domain upon which the shares sit. Any attempt to write
to the filesystem
generated an I/O error. Eg "vi somefile" comes back with "I/O Error [Warning
- somefile is incomplete]". I ran verify on the domain and found no
problems. I restarted the system in it's entirety. There's nothing apparent
in messages. Hwmgr/scu indicates the disks are all happily visible. Analyze
has a couple of tape related CAM events (which I know are provoked by
Networker) and a "simple_lock: time limit exceeded" which posts in the
archive suggest is probably related to the tape events.

This particular file domain consisted of 5 disks. 4 are Storageworks 36Gb
units in the internal shelf with an additional IBM DRHS36V on another bus
added in to make up the space.

On a whim I removed the IBM drive from the domain and everything came back
to life.

This solved one problem but now I have to find another 36Gb worth of space
from somewhere. There's another IBM drive in another file domain which works
ok. It may be there's a problem splitting the domain across the buses. I'll
post a followup if I ever identify exactly what the problem is.

Cheers

Joe
