We have been getting reports that remote mail servers have been rejecting
mail with the following error.

"helo comand rejected need fully qualified host name"

The PMDF software that is trying to send the mail gets the "fully qualified
host name" from the Operating system.

When a message is sent this is what the remote system sees.

14:42:41.10: Sending : "220-off.process.com -- Server ESMTP (PMDF
V6.1#36649)"
14:42:41.10: Sending : "220 Creates a second 220 banner line"
14:42:41.16: Received : "EHLO fada1smt01"
14:42:41.16: Remote host IDENT information: [206.103.66.131]

As you can see the EHLO line does not have a fully qualified host name.

My question is, where in TRU64 is the fully Qualified Host name defined? In
solaris the definition is in etc/resolv.conf, is there a corresponding file
in TRU64?
