Hi all,
we have a Alpha Server 2100 running 4.0D (very old, I know, but we are not
allowed to update) and until a few weeks ago we had no problems starting
dtadvfs.
Suddenly it stopped working; the "Advanced File System Manager"-window
appears, stays on my screen for about 1 minute and disappears without any
error message, not even on th window where I started it with "dtadvfs &".
I searcged the archive, read about the hosts.allow file, and it is still
there, it contains the same string I see with "hostname" (name including
domain). The node is still with the correct IP-Adress in /etc/hosts,
nothing changed there.
The only thing we changed was moving the machine from fddi to 100MB
switched ethernet, but I cannot imaging what that could have changed with
advfs.
There is one hint in /var/opt/dtadvfs/advfs_gui.log, there I find the
following:
... (starting with 10 retries)

Advfsd is running.
Any ideas for me?
TIA
