Hi, managers,
my problem was that dtadvfs suddenly stopped working. Even reboot did not
help.
Thanks to

for trying to help, I got lots of hints where to look, but the problem was
much more complicated and deeper than we all thought.
Thanks go to Ralf Puchner from Compaq support, who after some mails and a
very long phone call found out, that rpc-lockd was accessing one of the
ports advfsd would like to open (perhaps corrupted db after a crash). So
advfsd started, but could not really work.
We stopped advfsd, rpc.lockd and rpc.statd, cleared the /etc/sm and
/etc/sm.bak directories (!!Attention at this point, be sure that this could
harm your system!), started both daemons (rpc.statd first), started advfsd
and everything runs fine again!
