Hello again Managers

So far I have taken Joe Mario's advice (thanks very much!) and configured
the server as a NFS client (the NFS server which contains the database files
I believe is the NAS device).

Now the database mounts but it does not open (it just hangs there
indefinitely).

Has anyone suceeded in mounting or setting up a database on a NAS device?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards
Andre Thompson

Subject: Unable to lock file

Hi Managers
I am experimenting with a NAS device. I have setup my database files
on a NAS device and then I tried to start it up. I get the following error
message:

SVRMGR>alter database open resetlogs
*
ORA-00344: unable to re-create online log '/nas/TEST/log4TEST.dbf'
ORA-27086: skgfglk: unable to lock file - already in use
Compaq Tru64 UNIX Error: 77: No locks available
Additional information: 8
SVRMGR>

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards
Andre
