Tru64 5.1A on AlphaServer 1000A

We've an AlphaServer 1000A that we would like to install Tru64 5.1A on.
However I see that the minimum required firmware for this OS is version 5.9
while the latest release for the AS1000A is 5.7. Does this mean it is not
possible
to use 5.1A on the AS1000A or I am missing something?
