NFS mount on 4.0G from RH Linux 7.1

Issuing my mount command of:

mount -t nfs host.domain.com:/usr/local/backups /usr/local/backups

gives me the following error:

mount: RPC: Authentication error; why = Server rejected credential

All posts I've seen on this point to as a DNS error. My /etc/hosts files are
identical on the client and server, both containing correct entries for the
client and server.
