To the List:
WHile rummaging around in my new Tru64 5.1 installation, trying to
figure out how to mount the other disks on my computer, i discoverd
that in the root directory:
there are two device directories.
/dev
and
/devices
furthermore, each of these has subdirectories:
/disk
and
/rdisk
that makes a total of 4 directories containing more-or-less raw code.
>From the responses I got trying to mount them, i figure that rdisk
contains the raw devices and disk ontains the block devices.
But what is the purpose of the separate /dev and /devices directories
... and more importantly, if you are gonna try and mount a file system,
which of the 4 should you mount?
