Generally, it no good idea to remove the cache physically. Since I use two
raid5-sets they would become practically unusable anyway rendering it
inoperable.
One possibility is to disable the cache at controller level, one other to
set the hardware jumper on the controller Circuit Board to "Disable
Batteries", a third would be to set the cache policy to "B" and ignore the
Batteries.
Considering all the information I got I have decided to leave the mirror
online until the main system hardware is fully functional again.
Once again, the list prooved to be a powerful and fast forum!
